Nap Time Craft: Felt Christmas Tree Garland

IMG_4059

Inspired by a tree decoration I saw in Crafty Magazine, today’s Nap Time Craft is a super quick way to add merriment to your mantlepiece.

For this Nap Time Craft you will need:

  • 2 sheets of green felt
  • Embroidery thread & needle
  • Embroidery pins
  • Baker’s twine
  • Scissors
  • Card

Begin by drawing a Christmas tree on the card, to act as your template. Cut this out and pin it to the felt. I cut out nine felt trees to fit the length of the mantlepiece.

Cut your baker’s twine to your desired length. Thread the trees using the baker’s twine. Make sure you thread them a little bit down from the top of each tree so they don’t fall off.

Space the trees out evenly along the length of the twine, leaving space at each end to hang the garland.

For added Christmas cheer, I chose to embroider “Ho Ho Ho” using backstitch on the middle tree.

Finally hang and admire…!
