I’ve slumped on the sofa to write this post after one of the busiest weeks in a while. This little girl turned 3 on Thursday, and to celebrate we had a big Peter Rabbit party with her friends, who spent the majority of the party hopping around like bunnies. On her birthday itself, we had a much quieter day with just the four of us, and spent it at Drusilla’s Zoo in glorious sunshine and we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
Rabbit has been around since Harper was born, so it was her birthday too. She comes everywhere with her at the moment and it’s like having a third child, checking that she’s still with us, as Nick and I both live in fear of losing her. Rabbit doesn’t get to have a wash much as she’s always in Harper’s grasp and she won’t go to sleep until they’re both tucked up together in bed!
When we go on days out she likes to have the map and tell us where to go (which is usually the cafe). Because it was such a sunny day we spent most of our time in the outdoor playground, especially on the banana swings. We also did lots of challenges to compare ourselves to animals – Grayson weighs the same as an otter and Harper can run as fast as a cockroach. Not sure how I feel about either of those facts but good to know none the less.
We very rarely get photos together as I’m either taking them or she’s wrapped around Nick so it was really nice to share a brief moment together before she was off again.
She really wanted to end the day with ice cream so we headed down to the beach for the sunset and a scoop of strawberry ice cream.
It really was one of those rare days where everything fell into place and was one to treasure.
Harper, thank you for giving me the title of Mummy, for driving me bonkers on a daily basis, but for being the absolute light of our little family. Happy birthday!
