Life In Pictures: Kew Gardens

kew gardens autumn - little button diaries

Back in the Spring, we had a trip out to Kew Gardens to see the cherry blossom trees, and vowed to go back to see what it looked like in Autumn. We made the trip recently and we were not disappointed.

The trip wasn’t wildly successful as both kids basically just wanted to have a snack or sit in the single buggy we took with us, so we didn’t get to explore as much as we were hoping to. We did see a little part of the grounds in-between mini meltdowns over ice creams, grapes and… well, you name it really!

I did get to snap a few pictures of Harper whilst she was playing with the leaves, which she loved!

I thought it would be a brilliant idea to wear a tutu skirt and no tights so apologies for the pasty legs in the photo above! I realise that these photos don’t do Kew Gardens any justice but I was trying to put the camera away for a bit and actually hang out with the kids.

Harper is so pleased with the wording on her top. She came home from nursery declaring that she can speak French as she could say ‘Bonjour’. Since then we’ve been teaching her a few words (which is seriously stretching my GCSE French skills) and she can say thank you, bye and count to ten.  All we need to teach her now is “where is the toilet?”, “can I have a milk please, and make it a large one” and “can I watch My Little Pony please?” and she’d be ready to go back packing around France.

Not our most successful family trip out but there were large chunks of nice in it!

  1. With your lovely photos you could tell any story you liked of your day. Kew Gardens are beautiful and I imagine Autumn is a lovely time to visit. That said there is no telling kids they are going to enjoy themselves, it has to come from them, I’m glad you had some fun moments as your photos suggest, between the strops.

Thank you for linking up with me on #CountryKids

  2. Oh, we’ve all had those days where the trip didn’t go quite as we expected! Still, you got out and about and grabbed some lovely photos. I do love a splash of Yellow!
    Good luck with your blog
