At the start of the year we had a little party for Grayson’s 2nd birthday. As the younger child, he’s spent the last couple of years being dragged to every class, playdate and social gathering that Harper’s been invited to, so it’s quite rare for him to be the centre of attention.
As Grayson’s birthday is so soon after Christmas, we barely finish finding batteries for all his Christmas presents before his birthday ones arrive. This year, he received a lot of lovely Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig presents and Harper was thrilled to be the one that ‘helped’ him open them. Luckily we’d had a clear-out of all the toys they’d grown out of just before Christmas, as our house is only big enough for a certain amount at any one time!
I posted a DIY on his tractor cake last week and had really lovely comments, so thank you very much! It was a little bit uncooked in the middle and certainly wouldn’t have passed the Mary Berry test, but when your nearest and dearest are eating it they don’t mind a soggy bottomed cake!
So every birthday the kids have had, we’ve got them a number balloon and have tried to take a photo with them and the balloon as a way to mark it, and every year it’s been a disaster. The first and second ones for Harper popped before we took any photos, and the other ones just haven’t worked out. This year was no exception as we nipped out to the park and the balloon started to deflate, so these were the best photos we got! Oh well, there’s always Harper’s 4th birthday coming up.
So there we have it. It was a really lovely little affair and Grayson certainly had a good time, followed by an extra-long nap.
