Life In Pictures: Wilderness Wood

Behind the scenes at Little Button HQ (we say that to sound fancy even though we are, in reality, two mums sitting at computers in pjs with gigantic mugs of tea), we’ve been busy for most on the year on a very big nature-inspired project that has meant we’ve had to drag the kids outside at every free opportunity come rain or shine. They have become so used to following us around woods looking for suitable sticks, leaves and rocks! They look a little bit like ducklings walking around and, to be honest, for them the novelty of outdoor crafting has well and truly worn off!

On a very rainy Friday, we took them to Wilderness Wood. If you live in the Sussex area we’d recommend you going there especially near Christmas to get your trees (check out our post from last Christmas with all the twinkly trees!). Despite their initial grumble about the weather they soon quietened down when they saw all the enormous puddles to jump in and sticks to collect.

We made a little video of all the tips and tricks we’ve picked up from woodland adventures with kids over on our You Tube Channel so go and take a look at that if haven’t already. We thought our tips were quite good actually!

Look at this grubby little face! The girls seemed to remain fairly clean but Grayson just has to look at dirt and it sticks to his face like a five o’clock shadow. The girls have grown a real interest in taking photos, probably because we’ve always got a camera sticking in their faces. We took a photo at the same time and here’s what came out. We love it!

After one too many puddle jumps we made it back to the cafe to tea and cookies the size of the kids heads! Nyom.
