Like lots of parents, I feel a little overwhelmed at the amount of plastic crap that seems to accumulate in my children’s toy box. Noisy, flashy, plastic crap that no one seems to play with. We try not to buy too much of it, but it seems to build up anyway. When it comes to toys, I would always opt for wooden, even if my kids wouldn’t (avoided a pun there…). They’re solid, durable and usually better for the planet. Plus wooden toys don’t suddenly blurt “I’m Action Chugger” when you’re in bed at night (that one is in the charity bin now, it freaked me out).
1. Little Bird – Most of you with kids will be familiar with Jools Oliver’s lovely line of adorable kids clothing at Mothercare. It is my absolute favourite – every single thing they create is cute, colourful and good quality. And its no more expensive than anything else in Mothercare. Win!
1. Gaviscon – Now that I’m in my third trimester, like loads of expectant mums I’ve been suffering with horrible heartburn. My bottle of Gaviscon has become an essential handbag item and I actually can’t live without it at the moment! If you are suffering from heartburn or indigestion symptoms (3/4 of pregnant women do!) then Gaviscon is definitely the best thing you can get and it works instantly to get rid of the acid. Gaviscon’s website is also a great place to pop over to for loads of information and help on dealing with heartburn during pregnancy.
From photography must-haves to pampering essentials, to crafter’s tools and toddler’s treats. These are a few of our favourite things right now.
1.Milk & Moleskine Photo Albums I have been using Milk Books for a few years, creating an album each year. I love them, the books are gorgeous. Good quality paper, lovely canvas covers and quirky little touches.
We do like to spread the love you know. When we find things we like, we want to share them with you. From craft inspiration to children’s clothing bargains and snazzy scooters, here are a few of the things that are making us smile this month (besides our Little Buttons!)
1. I do love discovering a new magazine and when I came across Crafty Magazine I wasn’t disappointed. The magazine is in its infancy compared to the heavyweight Mollie Makes but it is by no means inferior. It’s filled with projects I want to make, a useful craft calendar of upcoming events and lots of books and blogs recommendations to be inspired by.
We love reading what other bloggers feel passionately enough about to recommend online. At Little Button Diaries we’re all about sharing the love. So we asked the delightful Hannah from Make, Do and Push! what her favourite things are right now. Hannah writes a brilliant blog about her life; from pregnancy, parenting and postpartum fashion to beauty, crafting and her upcoming wedding.
I’m currently almost 6 months pregnant and fast approaching the point where normal clothes don’t fit and everything that does makes me look and feel like a bit of a hippo. Before I was pregnant I used to think all bumps looked lovely – but now that I am again I just miss my waist and my normal clothes.
From a craft must-have and a baby delight to bakers’ treats and a photographers’ bible – here are a few of the things that are bringing sparkle into our lives right now (besides our Little Buttons!)1. I was very excited when Lorraine Pascale released her latest book, A Lighter Way To Bake, last week. I’ve been a fan since her first book and she is my cooking goddess. Her recipes are always inventive and delicious, and this book features versions that are lighter in calories or sugar, so it’s a win-win purchase. I’m already working my way through the book, and have bookmarked most of the recipes to try at a later date.
From pregnancy lifesavers and baby delights to baking treats and new mum necessities – here are a few of the things that are bringing sparkle into our lives right now (besides our Little Buttons!)
1. L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Organic Certified was a pregnancy lifesaver. I used this everyday on my growing belly to help avoid stretchmarks. Now the weather has grown colder I’ve started to use it again. The super nourishing quality is great for dry skin, and a little goes a long way.
