So, we’ve had a happy busy week! We spent two days in an art studio in Lewes doing a photo shoot and adding some finishing touches for a project we’ve been working on all year. We’ve put so much into it and to see it all coming together made us feel very proud and excited. We were happily getting under the photographers feet taking snaps of our kids as they behaved beautifully* throughout the shoot.
This week it seems we’ve been super busy and not just with Christmas preparation! We made a trip up to London to see the sights and meet up with family. We managed to bump into The Clangers and squeeze in a carousel ride on the South Bank whilst we were there too. We also celebrated Grayson’s best friend’s first birthday with a little farm visit and ended the week meeting the big man himself, Father Christmas.
This week we braved the wind and rain and escaped to the countryside to go to one of our favourite places, Wakehurst Place. We quite often find ourselves there when we’ve got no plans as the fresh air, beautiful photo opportunities and really lovely cakes are worth the journey and inevitable naps in the car. We also hung out with cousins and had a splish sploshy visit to Blackberry Farm, right before the weather decided to go all mean and cold.
This week we had a day out in Hastings which was so nice, the sun was shining and we had an amazing burger at Pelican which is an awesome diner near the seafront. The kids sat the whole way through (with only a teeny bit of technological assistance…) and we got to eat our food without feeling like we had to force it down and get the hell out, like we normally do. Yey! We also went for an after-work stroll at Stanmer House, Brighton, ate too much strawberry ice cream and came home with a pocketful of conkers!
This week we’ve been outside at every possible opportunity now that the sunshine could be whipped from under our feet at any moment! We no longer live a few minutes around the corner from each other so when we unexpectantly ended up in the same park at the same time this week, happy times! It really turned an ordinary park visit into lovely morning. As we had our camera (as always) we couldn’t resist taking a few snaps.
We had a lovely day last week at a photoshoot for our latest project. Lots of cake, mini kings and sugar-happy kids running wild in a village hall. There was so much to distract the tots that we even managed to have an actual conversation (although it was probably about the blog because that’s all we really talk about!).
Life in Pictures is our mini photo gallery of all the things we’ve been up to in the week. This week we’ve been putting on our party hats and celebrating friend’s birthdays (luckily there was sunshine and cake!) More importantly though, it was a big one for us as Tia moved house, meaning that we are no longer one road away from one another. Sniff. So sad about that fact :-(. The week has been filled up with packing up boxes, unpacking boxes and then stuffing boxes into the corner to wait a year because we are so over unpacking boxes already! We did get the craft stuff all unpacked though. Phew.
Life in Pictures is our weekly mini-gallery of what we’ve been up to. This week we’ve been enjoying the deckchairs and pebbles of Brighton beach (although we didn’t realise at the time that the pebbles were seriously grimey… ew. I think we found a barbecue spot!) We’ve also been having belated birthday celebrations and eaten a serious amount of cake!
Today is our 2nd blog birthday! Hooray! The past two years have flown by in a world of craft and toddlers. We’re thoroughly loving what we get to do every day and blogging has introduced us to some truly inspiring crafters, bloggers and parents.
We started blogging as a way to record all the things we got up to with our little buttons, all the crafty projects we’d started but never finished and all the baking we wanted to do but never found the time. Our blog was our own little way of giving us focus and motivating us to finish stuff – because it’s not easy when you have a baby (or 4!). And now it’s second nature. We love writing it and we feel really lucky to have some fun crafty projects on the horizon to keep us busy.
