It’s nearly that time of year again! The day most parents just love – World Book Day. We’re here to help with 3 very simple no-sew costumes your children will love. They take very little time to make with the help of a few rolls of Duck Tape (you know how much we love this stuff by now right? Pretty much everything we make for our kids features it somewhere!). We’re starting with this one – The Queen of Hearts – and there will be two more easy ideas this week as well. Hoorah!
Look at that cute little face! We thought we’d share a really easy Halloween costume for your on our YouTube channel. This easy peasy Spider web costume is made from just a few snips of a bin bag. Classy eh? And super quick – perfect for last minute mums, like us

5…4…3…2…1… BLAST OFF! Today marks the start of World Space Week so there was no better time to announce the launch of our latest craft book, which is out today. Containing 15 space-themed projects to make, The Space Craft book is crammed full of ideas for creating the ultimate out-of-this-world look, including space boots, a rocket pencil case, astronaut helmet and complete alien costume. As well as the crafts, we also give details on how to throw the ultimate space party, with food ideas, decorations, games and even a super simple moon cake.
KAPOW. This costume is super super easy. You can whip it up in 20 minutes flat and all you need is a bin liner, some felt, elastic and a couple of pipe cleaners. Our little ones were so enthralled with it that they flapped around the garden for a whole hour pretending to save the world. See our video tutorial for how to make it below. If you like it, please give us a little like on You Tube and share the love!
Today this little rabbit turns three and to celebrate she really wanted a Peter Rabbit party and, more importantly, Peter Rabbit cake. So we’ve been knee deep in rabbits and carrots for a few weeks now. To complete her outfit we teamed up with Ladybird Books and made these easy sew felt rabbit ears. They’re simple enough to make in half an hour, making them a great last minute make for keen bunnies.
Last week we received a really exciting email to invite us to join the Channel Mum YouTube Community. Channel Mum is an online network of mummies who vlog about all thing parenting. It’s a really good resource for parents and we’re really excited about joining the team.
Our first video is an easy peasy Witch costume from Room on the Broom for World Book Day on 3rd March. It takes less than an hour to make and involves no sewing! We’ve got another super easy book inspired costume to share next week too, hoorah!
It was Little Button’s nursery’s summer fair recently. Children were asked to come in animal costumes to fit with this theme. This was the perfect opportunity to try out my first dressing-up costume and take inspiration from a pin I pinned ages ago on Pinterest.
You can find the full pattern on this blog. I’ve adapted the way you attach the costume to suit younger toddlers.
