Trying hard to think of a way to start this post without sounding like a big dull dudd moaning about the weather. Ummmm. Nope, the weather has been crap and we are moody about it. These pictures aren’t the best, but I am putting them up anyway because they were meant to be sunny lovely! We went to a hot air balloon festival and I had visions of artisicly styled colourful photos and happy picnicky kids. But there were no balloons. Just rain, and wet people, looking for balloons. The face says it all.
Last week we did something we hadn’t done before together, we took the kids swimming. In our 16 years of friendship we have never hit the pool together. We had three out of the four buttons with us so we knew it would either be amazing or a total disaster… but we risked it. And (thank the lord) it was ace! And yes, that picture above, we did set the camera up on a sun lounger then leap unelegantly into the pool to try and get a pic of all of us. We felt like right idiots doing it, but we have no group photos!
Happy Friday! We thought we’d share a bit more about our latest craft book, The Big Book of 100 Little Activities.
The book is aimed to occupy and entertain little ones. There are 100 projects ranging from spur of the moments crafts and mini projects to do over a few days.
To celebrate the release of the book, we’re hoping to get littles ones (and bigger ones) crafting. We’ve running a little competition over on our Instagram alongside the lovely Oh Creative Day. She’s our Australian craft buddy! To win a copy of the book, all your need to do is share a post showing how you use random bits and pieces around the house to create craft projects. Be sure to tag us @littlebuttondiaries and @ohcreativeday using the hashtag #lbdmakes #thiscreativeday. (Full T&Cs at the bottom of this post)
How pretty is this beach hut fabric (available in store) by Cath Kidston? We used it in our latest collaboration with them to make this pretty kite for their blog. It makes a great addition to a lonely bedroom wall, or you could even try and fly it (don’t try too hard, it’s better at being pretty than soaring through the skies!). Head over to Cath Kidston to see how to make your own.
Last week we went to Butlins! It was very last minute and very random and, if I’m honest, I wasn’t expecting much beyond kids entertainment, cheesey shows and a pool. We went there because it was Amelie’s birthday and swimming is her favourite thing, after unicorns of course (option A easier to supply). But guess what (dum dum dum)… It was awesome!
