12 Oh Creative Days of Christmas

12 Oh Creative Days of Christmas
Through Instagram we’ve met some absolute gems of crafters. They’re the kind of people you know you’d be life long friends with, and sit drinking coffee, listening to Taylor Swift and making pom poms with if there wasn’t an ocean or two in the way. Shannon from @ohcreativeday is one of those people who is a part of our Insta Craft Gang. She’s the most creative, supportive and hilarious friend any girl could have. She’s also the co-host of our Get Creative With craft challenge. Anyhoo, we are so chuffed that she has launched her first eBook. We’ve no idea how she did it whilst juggling three little ones, but she has, and it’s a festive treat. The 12 On Creative Days of Christmas has 12 projects, 13 pages of templates, 6 play dough mats and so many tips and tricks it’s like all your Christmases have come at once! You can buy the book here. To celebrate the launch of Shannon’s book we’ve got two copies to giveaway over on Instagram. All you need to do is follow us (@littlebuttondiaries) and Shannon (@ohcreativeday) and like the picture on Instagram. Competition will close at 7pm (UK time) on Monday 4th December. Winners will be contacted directly. ~ Laura xx ~

Over on our Get Creative With Instagram account we’re honoured to have craft guru The Imagination Tree as our new judge.

If you’ve not heard of Imagination Tree (where have you been?!), Anna is a mum of 4 and early years teacher so she knows what she’s talking about. Her site is absolutely crammed full of brilliant ideas and resources for crafting and learning for kids.

Mini Makers: Natural Paintbrushes

nature paintbrush 5

We got a whiff of sunshine and warmer weather yesterday after a totally grey May so far, so after dinner we did a little outdoor crafting in the sun. Harper is a hoarder of leaves, stones, flowers – basically anything she can stuff in her pockets/bag when we’re out. So after going through all her coat pockets we had a nice collection of natural bits and bobs. We threw in some paint and experimented using natural finds as ‘paintbrushes’.

Mini Makers: Lollipop Pairs

This week’s Instagram challenge on our @get.creative.with account is using Paint Charts/Paint Chips within a craft project. As Harper’s really into playing the game pairs at the moment, we made up our own lollipop version using paint charts. Sorry to Homebase in Brighton for clearing you out of samples!

The Big Book of 100 Little Activities

big book of 100 little activities

Happy Friday! We thought we’d share a bit more about our latest craft book, The Big Book of 100 Little Activities.

The book is aimed to occupy and entertain little ones. There are 100 projects ranging from spur of the moments crafts and mini projects to do over a few days.

To celebrate the release of the book, we’re hoping to get littles ones (and bigger ones) crafting. We’ve running a little competition over on our Instagram alongside the lovely Oh Creative Day. She’s our Australian craft buddy! To win a copy of the book, all your need to do is share a post showing how you use random bits and pieces around the house to create craft projects. Be sure to tag us @littlebuttondiaries and @ohcreativeday using the hashtag #lbdmakes #thiscreativeday. (Full T&Cs at the bottom of this post)

A Few of Our Favourite Things

A few of our favourite things

From a craft must-have and a baby delight to bakers’ treats and a photographers’ bible – here are a few of the things that are bringing sparkle into our lives right now (besides our Little Buttons!)1. I was very excited when Lorraine Pascale released her latest book, A Lighter Way To Bake, last week. I’ve been a fan since her first book and she is my cooking goddess. Her recipes are always inventive and delicious, and this book features versions that are lighter in calories or sugar, so it’s a win-win purchase. I’m already working my way through the book, and have bookmarked most of the recipes to try at a later date.
