DIY Scratch Cards (with a craft twist!)

diy scratch cards

Ok, so I’m not promising these DIY scratch cards will make you squillionaires but they do make a fun gift and an easy project for kids to do. I made these scratch cards as part of a reward chart for my Buttons. We’ve had a lot of sticker charts recently for  everything and anything so I wanted to think of a way to spice them up! These scratch cards would also make a cute Valentine’s Day card or Date Night surprise.

Kids Craft: Sparkly ‘Thank You’ Cards

Spooky Halloween Wreath

halloween wreath - little button diaries

Round where we live, it seems everyone goes to town for Halloween. There’s always a steady stream of witches, ghosts, monsters and vampires knocking at our door, trick or treating. Last year I was a meanie and hid away and pretended we weren’t in as we only had a small amount of sweets to give (that I quite fancied eating!). But Harper convinced me to share them out so the two of us had a riot answering the door way past bedtime. A year later, she still talks about the time we gave out sweets.

We love a good craft challenge. So when Hobbycraft sent us this giant box of craft goodies for kids and asked us to come up with something we emptied the contents onto the table, made a cup of tea and stared at it for a while waiting for inspiration to hit.

We’ve been crafting together for many years now so our tastes seem to have a merged into one! Once we began pulling out bits of craft materials they all seemed to fit together into this rather glam mermaid.
