A few weeks ago, I was in Anthropologie (hands down, favourite shop on the planet) and I spotted some cute little gold dog magnets. Here they are. Cute. I showed them to George, he thought they were hideous and refused to let me own them (not that I need his permission, but, you know). Then I saw a mug with my initial on it, he refused that too. So we had a bit of a row. Anyway, where am I going with this… oh yes, I thought I’d have a go at making my own version of these animal magnets. And they worked! AND he likes them. And they are the easiest thing to make, my three year old could do it (assuming she could operate a glue gun and spray paint. Details).
We have to share with you our very exciting news!! We are in this month’s copy of Mollie Makes – our absolute favourite craft magazine. And it makes us VERY excited. We have been reading the magazine every month since it started and to be featured in it is something we have hoped for since we began our blog 3 years ago. So we’re happy right now!
Today’s Nap Time Craft is so quick, it can be done while the kettle is on.
For this craft you will need:
- An assortment of buttons/flat-backed tins/photo paper (depending on which type of magnet you choose)
- Self-adhesive magnet sheet
- Craft knife
Cut the magnetic sheet to fit the back of the button. You need to use buttons that have a flat back and not the shanked variety.
Peel off the back of the magnetic sheet, and stick it onto the back of the button.
