For most of November, I went around like a lovesick teenager over this pom pom wreath in Mollie Makes by Christine Leech. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and really wanted to hang it on my door. Here’s the thing, Tia and I have been doing this craft blog thing for 4 years now and so many great projects created by other crafters come up that we can’t go near as they’re not ‘original’ LBD stuff. But with this project I feel like everyone needs to see its beauty.
Panda purses and clay biscuits…. not a sentence we’ve ever written before! We did a little crafting for our fave magazine Mollie Makes a little while ago and we’ve just received a copy in the post. It always makes us so happy when we’re featured, we’ve been reading the magazine for years now and it’s a good feeling to be a contributor, albeit a baby one! We made some little clay biscuits for them (click here for the full tutorial).
Sorry for jumping on the back-to-school bandwagon, but it IS back to school time, and for the first time ever we now have a school child too! So we’ve been thinking lots about all the things we can make to prepare for it. When our favourite magazine of all time Mollie Makes asked us to craft up some super simple vinyl lunch bags we were very happy to indulge. These are a great project to make and they don’t take long to whip up. The magazine is available now – go and buy it, it’s aces.
We have to share with you our very exciting news!! We are in this month’s copy of Mollie Makes – our absolute favourite craft magazine. And it makes us VERY excited. We have been reading the magazine every month since it started and to be featured in it is something we have hoped for since we began our blog 3 years ago. So we’re happy right now!
On Friday we waved bye-bye to our Buttons for the night (secret high-five) and hopped on a train to London for the MAD Blog Awards. These awards honour parent bloggers in the UK and we were finalists in their best craft blog category. We had a really lovely evening and totally weren’t expecting to win anything (our competition were all established and awesome blogs) so when they called our name out as winners… Well it was all a bit of a shock. We have no idea what we said when we picked up our award but will probably cringe when we see the video.
Life in Pictures is our weekly mini-gallery of what our Little Buttons have been up to over the last seven days. We’ve had a REALLY exciting weekend… we’ll share all the details very soon, but for now here’s a little taster.
Ooh, we’ve got a really exciting weekend ahead of us – tonight we’re off to the MAD (Mums and Dads) Blog awards as finalists for best craft blog. We never get dressed up these days, so we’re very excited to get to wear fancy dresses and paint our nails. It’s also the first time we’ve left two of our Buttons for a night away so it’s exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time!
Our little toddlers have one thing in common: they are both OBSESSED with bunnies. They can’t sleep without their bunnies, they squeal at anything bunny related and they always have their bunnies in tow. So in time for easter, we decided to make them a pair of little bunny dresses. We adapted a gorgeous pattern by Kirsty Hartley featured in Mollie Makes Mama for a little mouse dress. Pattern template can be found here.
From a craft must-have and a baby delight to bakers’ treats and a photographers’ bible – here are a few of the things that are bringing sparkle into our lives right now (besides our Little Buttons!)1. I was very excited when Lorraine Pascale released her latest book, A Lighter Way To Bake, last week. I’ve been a fan since her first book and she is my cooking goddess. Her recipes are always inventive and delicious, and this book features versions that are lighter in calories or sugar, so it’s a win-win purchase. I’m already working my way through the book, and have bookmarked most of the recipes to try at a later date.
