We’ve spent most of the summer in anywhere but Brighton trying to cram in as much fun before Harper starts school in September. We spent a week in a cottage in Pembrokeshire with my brother and his girlfriend, both of whom the kids adore. I think they actually love them more than us at times!! I tend to be really snap-happy on holiday (who am I kidding, I’m like that all the time!) and shared the first part of the holiday in my last Life In Pictures.
We went up to stay with Nanna and Grandpa recently. They’d been working on a secret project for most of this year. Nanna is a fantastic sewer and knitter extraordinaire, and Grandpa can turn a plank of wood into anything… literally anything. So I knew whatever it was going to be would be amazing.
When the sun is shining Brighton is just brilliant. We’re really lucky to live so close to the sea, so we often pop down to the seafront for a wander (along with the rest of Brighton it seems!). We went for a coffee during the week and went to say hello to the sea. Unbeknown to me we got a
bit lot too close to the waves and got drenched feet within about five minutes of being there. Both Harper and I walked around with a nice squelchy sound for the rest of the day.
