So, we’ve had a happy busy week! We spent two days in an art studio in Lewes doing a photo shoot and adding some finishing touches for a project we’ve been working on all year. We’ve put so much into it and to see it all coming together made us feel very proud and excited. We were happily getting under the photographers feet taking snaps of our kids as they behaved beautifully* throughout the shoot.
We had a lovely day last week at a photoshoot for our latest project. Lots of cake, mini kings and sugar-happy kids running wild in a village hall. There was so much to distract the tots that we even managed to have an actual conversation (although it was probably about the blog because that’s all we really talk about!).
We’re so excited to share our news that we are now going to be working with high street stationers, Paperchase, on their recently launched blog, The Journal. We are probably the two biggest fans of Paperchase out there (we both recently bought a whole load of matching stationery from there… losers!) so to be working with them makes us really happy.
Life in Pictures is our weekly mini-gallery of what our Little Buttons have been up to over the past seven days. This week we’ve been visiting bluebell woods (although the bluebells decided not to join us) and enjoying the 3 minutes of sunshine splashing in the Diana Memorial fountain in London and seeing the sights.
We were very very happy to learn this week that Little Button Diaries have made the shortlist for the Bibs. The Brilliance in Blogging Awards, are the bees knees of blogging awards so we’re obviously very excited (and still in shock!) at making the shortlist.
We’re up against nine other great blogs for Best Craft Blog. If you like our blog, we’d be so grateful if you could spare a teeny tiny two minutes to vote for us. All you need to do is click into the form, scrolling down to section 12 to select us, Little Button Diaries.
Last week we were invited to go and meet the Easter bunny for breakfast! We were greeted by Alice (of Alice in Wonderland) and sat down to a table decorated with Easter goodies. After a full breakfast, we decorated Easter biscuits and then the Easter bunny arrived with a fluffy rabbit and chocolate for the Buttons. Thank you to Wyevale Garden Centre for having us – we can’t wait to come back and meet Father Christmas!
It’s half-term. and we’ve teamed up with Hobbycraft to come up with crafts to keep your little (and slightly bigger) ones entertained this week. Our first project is this Duck Tape Pencil Case – it’s quick and fun to make. To see how to make it, hop on over to Hobbycraft where you’ll find our video tutorial.
We were lucky to be sent this lovely range of children’s books. Button Books are design-led children’s tales which combine beautiful illustrations, bright colours and pop-out origami creatures.
The Safari Set, The Jungle Crew and The Polar Pack by Madeleine Rogers teach children all about the animals that live in these habitats. The stylised page are filled with bold, colourful geometric designs and their surroundings.
1. Gaviscon – Now that I’m in my third trimester, like loads of expectant mums I’ve been suffering with horrible heartburn. My bottle of Gaviscon has become an essential handbag item and I actually can’t live without it at the moment! If you are suffering from heartburn or indigestion symptoms (3/4 of pregnant women do!) then Gaviscon is definitely the best thing you can get and it works instantly to get rid of the acid. Gaviscon’s website is also a great place to pop over to for loads of information and help on dealing with heartburn during pregnancy.
On Friday we waved bye-bye to our Buttons for the night (secret high-five) and hopped on a train to London for the MAD Blog Awards. These awards honour parent bloggers in the UK and we were finalists in their best craft blog category. We had a really lovely evening and totally weren’t expecting to win anything (our competition were all established and awesome blogs) so when they called our name out as winners… Well it was all a bit of a shock. We have no idea what we said when we picked up our award but will probably cringe when we see the video.
Life in Pictures is our weekly mini-gallery of what our Little Buttons have been up to over the last seven days. We’ve had a REALLY exciting weekend… we’ll share all the details very soon, but for now here’s a little taster.
Ooh, we’ve got a really exciting weekend ahead of us – tonight we’re off to the MAD (Mums and Dads) Blog awards as finalists for best craft blog. We never get dressed up these days, so we’re very excited to get to wear fancy dresses and paint our nails. It’s also the first time we’ve left two of our Buttons for a night away so it’s exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time!
