I love it when my husband has a day off during the week as it means a day when it’s not just me responsible for two children and therefore a bit like a bonus weekend day. A couple of weeks ago we had such a day and as it was sunny we decided to tick off a place we’ve been wanting to visit for a while – Kew Gardens. As the cherry blossom walk is in bloom at the moment we went to have a little look around the grounds. One of Harper’s middle names is Blossom, so it was nice to be able to show her what she was named after (OK… she may have slightly been named after the 90’s TV character with that name too!).
Life in Pictures is a bit of this-and-that this week. We’ve been on a few family outings over the past few weeks and have only come back with a few snaps from them, so I’ve put them all together (we haven’t been that busy in one week!)
We went to visit the Arlington Bluebell Walk for a little stroll. We were so ill prepared as it was really muddy and we hadn’t brought wellies and it was freezing. After this photo Harper refused to get out of the buggy as it was too ‘yucky’. Luckily Grayson was quite happy toddling around for a bit. Not one of our most successful trips out but you live and learn, right?
At the weekend we had a Peter Rabbit party to celebrate Harper’s 3rd birthday. As well as all the usual party games with a bunny twist and shenanigans you get at a toddler’s party, we also had a giant carrot piñata, because quite frankly I’m a big fan of them. The piñata was pretty straightforward to make in a few hours. The hardest part was choosing what to fill it with!
I’ve slumped on the sofa to write this post after one of the busiest weeks in a while. This little girl turned 3 on Thursday, and to celebrate we had a big Peter Rabbit party with her friends, who spent the majority of the party hopping around like bunnies. On her birthday itself, we had a much quieter day with just the four of us, and spent it at Drusilla’s Zoo in glorious sunshine and we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
Our little toddlers have one thing in common: they are both OBSESSED with bunnies. They can’t sleep without their bunnies, they squeal at anything bunny related and they always have their bunnies in tow. So in time for easter, we decided to make them a pair of little bunny dresses. We adapted a gorgeous pattern by Kirsty Hartley featured in Mollie Makes Mama for a little mouse dress. Pattern template can be found here.
