Last week I saw a picture of Fearne Cotton wearing some pom pom earrings and I WANTED them. I looked for them, I couldn’t find them. Then I thought – wait – that’s just a pom pom on an earring thingy. I can make pom poms. And I have earring thingies!

It took me about 15 minutes to make them (minus about an hour of pom pom practising in the evening whilst watching Made in Chelsea – don’t judge me – and stuffing chocolate into my face). Here’s how you do it!

Patchwork Camera Strap Tutorial

Our latest post for Hobbycraft is now live, hoorah! This month we decided to make something for our long-suffering cameras. We’re so snap happy – our cameras are always with us and they get a lot of bashing about, flung into the nappy bag with all manner of baby junk. We wanted to create a cover for the strap to personalise our cameras, one that can be removed for washing! This is a nice easy project and a great way to use up scraps of fabric.

Nap Time Crafts: Halloween Pumpkin Headband

Halloween is scarily close. If you’re in need of a simple costume that gives a nod to Fright Night then try today’s Nap Time Craft.

For this project you will need:

  • 1 sheet of orange felt
  • Embroidery thread in yellow, black and green
  • Needle, scissors & a pencil
  • Orange thin elastic
  • Embroidery pins

Begin by drawing two pumpkin shapes of the same size onto the felt. Cut them out along with a small rectangular piece for the backing.
