Just back from my holiday in California and I’m sulking in my being-home-is-turd bubble. The bubble that just pisses everyone else off and makes you look bloody ungrateful for your holiday. Which I’m not – my trip was awesome and I’ll probably never get one like it again (waaaaaaaail). Because this holiday was one I took WITHOUT my kids. They went to my (amazing, kind and wonderful) parents, whilst me and George guiltily (guiltily until my second gin at the airport. Then WAHOOO kicked in) flew off to LA for a road trip to San Fransisco.
We’ve spent most of the summer in anywhere but Brighton trying to cram in as much fun before Harper starts school in September. We spent a week in a cottage in Pembrokeshire with my brother and his girlfriend, both of whom the kids adore. I think they actually love them more than us at times!! I tend to be really snap-happy on holiday (who am I kidding, I’m like that all the time!) and shared the first part of the holiday in my last Life In Pictures.
Last week we went to Butlins! It was very last minute and very random and, if I’m honest, I wasn’t expecting much beyond kids entertainment, cheesey shows and a pool. We went there because it was Amelie’s birthday and swimming is her favourite thing, after unicorns of course (option A easier to supply). But guess what (dum dum dum)… It was awesome!
A few years ago, back
when I had a life before I had kids, I did a big long adventure across the world with my friend. She asked me a while ago if I could make her a little stitched route map of our trip, so I thought I’d do one and turn it into an ipad case. I loved how easy it was (I know I always say that. But it was really easy – and really speedy too!). Here’s what I did.
