We’ve spent most of the summer in anywhere but Brighton trying to cram in as much fun before Harper starts school in September. We spent a week in a cottage in Pembrokeshire with my brother and his girlfriend, both of whom the kids adore. I think they actually love them more than us at times!! I tend to be really snap-happy on holiday (who am I kidding, I’m like that all the time!) and shared the first part of the holiday in my last Life In Pictures.
So we had a little holiday in St. Ives, Cornwall, for a week and it was lovely and now I think I’d quite like to live there. We left at 4am due to my (slightly OTT) panic about getting stuck in a jam with two bored kids on a journey that already takes 6 hours. But we arrived at 10 (unable to check in till 3…) in a bit of a daze and feeling slightly jetlagged/drunk on tiredness. So we had ice creams for breakfast and sat there feeling confused for a few hours.
How pretty is this beach hut fabric (available in store) by Cath Kidston? We used it in our latest collaboration with them to make this pretty kite for their blog. It makes a great addition to a lonely bedroom wall, or you could even try and fly it (don’t try too hard, it’s better at being pretty than soaring through the skies!). Head over to Cath Kidston to see how to make your own.
Last week we went to Butlins! It was very last minute and very random and, if I’m honest, I wasn’t expecting much beyond kids entertainment, cheesey shows and a pool. We went there because it was Amelie’s birthday and swimming is her favourite thing, after unicorns of course (option A easier to supply). But guess what (dum dum dum)… It was awesome!
