Our friends over at Brother Sewing asked us to sew something for Valentines, so we thought we’d whip up this little heart shoulder bag. We’ve made it from canvas cotton but it can be made from any fabric as long as it is relatively thick. We sewed the bag and purse together using a 1cm (3/8in) seam allowance.
Hooray! Valentines is OVER! I know it makes me cynical and grumpy but I reeeeeally am not a fan. I hate the forced romance, the cliches and the commercial pounding. I hate the disappointment and the expectation. It depressed me when I was single and it irritates me now I’m not. So… yup. Maybe I should have a cup of coffee…. that’s an awful lot of hate for a Monday morning. Sorry.
Hooray for Friday which means it’s time for another craft trend from us. It’s hard to ignore the love and hearts themed makes and bakes that have been filling up our Pinterest and Instagram feed this week so we’re embracing Valentine’s Day with six of our favourite love crafts for you to try in time for the big day itself.
I love making my own cards. Its cheaper, more personal and doesn’t involve me having to push my double buggy all the way into town to panic-buy a crap card. I thought I’d share this mini envelope card I made for George’s birthday as it took no time at all to make and its really easy. Perfect for when the babies are asleep (although, for me, that seems to have stopped entirely. They never sleep. I never sleep. I can barely type).
