Behind the scenes at Little Button HQ (we say that to sound fancy even though we are, in reality, two mums sitting at computers in pjs with gigantic mugs of tea), we’ve been busy for most on the year on a very big nature-inspired project that has meant we’ve had to drag the kids outside at every free opportunity come rain or shine. They have become so used to following us around woods looking for suitable sticks, leaves and rocks! They look a little bit like ducklings walking around and, to be honest, for them the novelty of outdoor crafting has well and truly worn off!
A few weeks ago on a very soggy Friday we took the kids for a nature walk at Wilderness Woods. We made a little video of our tips for exploring nature with little ones.
What are your kids favourite things to do on walks?

This is my little one’s guilty chocolate face. Parenting laws of chocolate consumption go right out the window at Easter. I love a long weekend!!! Not just because the ratio of parent to child is evened out (quite a lot because of that) but also because we get to have fun without that crappy sunday night feeling. Easter was a bit of a wash-out down here but we made the most of it on our one sunny day with a nice walk and a picnic.
This week we’ve had a busy week of work leading up to a photoshoot for the front cover of our third book. The girls were collectively the best behaved they’ve ever been at one of these shoots (probably because of the biscuit bribery we used!).
This was the highlight of the shoot, where we gave them handfuls of glitter and they had to blow it towards the camera. The poor photographer ended up looking like a glitter ball by the fourth take. In between photos there was quite a lot of waiting around whilst things got set up but they seemed to be quite happy amusing themselves sat on a window ledge for most of it.
