I saw a yummy recipe for Maltester Slice over on the beautiful Bake Play Smile blog. I love maltesers. I love white chocolate. And I love things that don’t need baking, because Amelie can help with the whole process. It was my lovely friend Alice’s birthday at the weekend so I thought I’d make these to take to her party (otherwise I would eat them all at super speed in a bid to just “get them gone so I can start eating healthy”. Is that just me?)
For this month’s project for Brighton Mums we decided to make a summery treat perfect for BBQs and picnics. It’s a really quick and simple recipe for crispy marshmallow fruit skewers. Head over to Brighton Mums for the full recipe.

It was my lovely Mum’s birthday last weekend so I wanted to make her a yummy chocolate treat to celebrate. This cake has a chocolate sponge, white chocolate ganache frosting and is topped off with a dark chocolate decorative collar.
I saw a picture of a similar cake in this Great British Bake Off Book but as the book wasn’t mine I had to improvise.
My lovely mum turned 60 last week. Happy Birthday Mum! To celebrate in cakey style, I made her an orange and white chocolate birthday cake (I followed this recipe from www.bbcgoodfood.com).
The cake incorporates ground almonds, orange zest and juice to give a lovely moistness. The icing is a combination of creme fraiche and melted white chocolate. Delish.
