How have been crafting/blogging for four years and never made slime! It is the best kids craft we’ve ever made, full STOP. It’s really easy to make with food colouring, PVA and contact lens solution. Which sounds odd, doesn’t it. Here’s our little how-to video, or read on for the step by step tutorial.
You Will Need:
- 100ml PVA glue
- 50ml water
- Gel food colouring
- 2tbs Contact Lens solution (containing Boric Acid)
- 1tsp Bicarbonate of soda
- Mix the water and glue together in a jug. Add the food colouring a little bit at a time and stir until you get the shade of colour you’d like. Here we’ve gone for monster green, because it’s nearly Halloween!
2. Stir the contact lens solution into the mixture. Add the bicarbonate of soda and stir quickly into the mixture. It will clump together to start with, the thicken and start to come away from the sides.
3. When it has thickened enough, turn it onto a work surface and knead it until it’s no longer sticky. Add glitter and google eyes, if you like, and your slime is all ready!
Store in a air tight container and it will last a few days – bear in mind, the more you play with it the harder it will become.
